About the Authors

Alice Walker, Isabel Allendé, and Jean Shinoda Bolen, MD, are respected around the world for their contributions as writers, women, and teachers. Alice Walker, best known as the author of the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel The Color Purple, is a prolific poet, essayist, short story writer, and novelist. She is the recipient of numerous professional awards, including the American Book Award. Her work has been translated into 22 languages. Isabel Allendé is a leading South American journalist and writer. Born in Peru, she has lived in Chilé and Venezuela. She is the author of The House of Spirits, Of Love and Shadows, and Stories of Eva Luna. Jean Shinoda Bolen, MD, is an international lecturer, clinical professor of psychiatry at the University of San Francisco, Jungian analyst, and writer. Dr. Bolen’s books include Ring of Power, Goddesses in Everywoman, and The Tao of Psychology.
